Having problems viewing the videos?

Here are several possible problems and solutions:

1. JavaScript/Flash Player error

If you received the following error message when trying to view a video:

“Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia’s Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player”.

This means that the JavaScript is turned off in your browser or you need to install the latest version of the Adobe Flash software. You will need to load Adobe Flash to view the videos. You can download the latest version at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

2. Your company’s IT security policies have restricted access to sites such as Youtube

Please check with your IT administrator on this issue. If your company does not allow access to Youtube or Tudou, please try accessing the videos from another location or at home.

3. Internet access is weak or bandwidth may be limited

If you are still using the 56k dial-up for your internet connection, you should still be able to access our videos but at a slower rate. For best results, you may want to start the video player and then click the PAUSE button immediately. Then, wait until the red progress bar has reached the end of the video before playing it. Allowing the entire video buffer lets you watch it without interruption. Remember, the shorter the video, the less time it takes to buffer.

4. Video has choppy playback

A video may not play smoothly for the following reasons:

(1) Your connection speed. You will need a broadband connection with at least 500+ Kbps for the best viewing experience.

(2) The site servers may be experiencing high traffic. If this is the case, there’s not much you can do. However, we are currently looking into loading our content on other video hosting sites so that you may have easier access to the videos.

(3) Your video download speed may be slow or inconsistent. In this case, you can try pausing the video until the entire stream is downloaded (the loading bar reaches the end of the player) and then, once the video’s completely loaded, try playing the video again.

5. The video may be banned in some countries

We have made provisions for the videos to be available on alternative sites. See the tab for this video on Youtube and Tudou just above the screen. We are also looking into loading our content on other video-hosting sites to make the videos more accessible to you.

6. You can still listen to the voice files in mp3

This Conversation may be available in mp3 voice (which you can download on your device and listen to anywhere) and also read the transcript text formats. Look out for the mp3 and transcript icons just beside the video screens.

7. If all else fails, contact us, we want to know

Please contact us if you are still unable to access the videos or email us your suggestions at nchan@thebankingconversation.com. We want to hear from you so that we can continue to upgrade this service.
